Hi

Once you buy a domain you can do near enough what you want with it.

Whoever sold you the domain will have a control panel that allows you to point the domain's nameservers to your host. The host can be your own hosting or a parked domain.

Depending on where you bought your domain, this can be quite easy or not so easy. I use Namecheap.com and their process is simple.

Transfering: you buy a domain name from someone else and they transfer ownership to you. Kind of like buying anything :)

I've not encountered a domain registrar that didn't let me park a domain, some put more hurdles in the way than others but it's always been do-able.

Trev,

Recently I created a domain name and then purchased it. Questions:
1. Can I park it right away if not when
2. Can I park it other than where I bought it right away
3. Is transfering refering to a purchase of a domain name that all ready exist and was created by another person
4. Bottom line I bought a name I made up and want to park it?

Thanks for Your Time!!
