If you’re tired of chasing the latest “great new thing” in affiliate marketing, this is a breath of fresh air.

It’s current and up to date. And the principles involved are likely to stay that way, so it shouldn’t suffer from the fate of so many internet marketing products which work (or at least, worked for long enough for the sales pitch not to lie) for a short while and then fizzle out.

What you get is a start to finish blueprint covering how to actually make money in the affiliate marketing field.

The principles work whether you’re selling a Clickbank download, an item from Amazon or Commission Junction, or anything else you can get an affiliate commission for.

You’ll need to buy a domain and some hosting to follow the system but nowadays those are quite cheap. Domains are less than $10 a year from sites like NameCheap and reasonable hosting costs around that each month.

Ideally, you should also buy a copy of the products you’re promoting – I only review items on this site that I’ve personally bought and used. And if you’ve read reviews on other sites, you can soon spot who’s bought a product and who’s just making things up as they go along. Your readers will spot this as well and are more likely to trust an honest review than a fake one.

Jay spells out the keyword research you’ll need to do. He offers three different research tools (none of which cost anything) and explains how to use them to pick a niche to target. He also offers the range he uses for the number of competing sites when he tackles a niche.

On top of the main reports, there’s also a support forum which Jay visits regularly. So if you’re stuck or don’t understand something, help is close.

There are also some extra “goodies” when you join the forum:

  • How-To use PLR content for maximum productivity in your business
  • A cool little technique for finding great keywords from a HOT source
  • How-To website purchasing, domain, hosting, squidoo setup, blogger setup, HubPages creation
  • A simple, yet powerful review site template, great SEO qualities

After that, it’s a matter of setting up your main site. Again, you’re led through the steps and one of the bonus items is a template for this very purpose.

Jay is a big believer in building up your own site first and foremost – free resources are all well and good (and very helpful in supporting your main site) but they’re not under your control. Which means that something that is an excellent free resource today disappears tomorrow – ask anyone who’s had a Blogger blog closed for no apparent reason, for instance.

Once your main site is set up, Jay talks through how to get traffic to it.

Because you’re targeting “long tail” keywords (ones without too many competitors in Google) this is relatively straightforward.

Some of it is article marketing, some of it involves Squidoo lenses and blogs. Oh, and Twitter, which is still an alien environment as far as I’m concerned (I haven’t implemented that part of the report yet).

None of it is rocket science!

Jay gives his recommended article format, which is pretty similar to the approach I use for my articles so I know that it works most of the time.

Article writing is more an art than a science but it’s also a numbers game: one article may hit lucky, one or more out of ten articles will almost certainly send a decent amount of traffic. And once you get into hundreds of published articles, you’ll get traffic. Simple. But usually neglected.

And, of course, there’s nothing to say you have to write the articles yourself. Nowadays, I outsource near enough all my articles (apart from reviews like this one) and have even started outsourcing the Squidoo lenses I use.

So, does Affilimax Conversions work?

Without a doubt.

The format is simple and straightforward: honestly review products and send traffic to the review page. It’s the same idea I use here and I know from the regular commissions I receive that it works.

It’s refreshingly free from hype. The sales page even tells you to click away if you’re looking for instant riches.

It’s well explained. And if anything is still unclear, there’s always the support forum.

It’s affordable (which also means it’s likely to be neglected – the big internet affiliate marketers won’t get hundreds of dollars per sale for pimping it to their lists).

You will need to put in a bit of effort and a bit of cash. Maybe $50 or so for the products you’re reviewing. $10 for a domain. $10 a month for hosting. Plus some time or money for the articles promoting your site.

If that’s an issue for you, find a way of saving up the cash. Because if you actually take the time to follow Jay’s system, you’ll be on the receiving end of affiliate checks sooner than you ever imagined.

If you can’t wait for those elusive first 5 sales at Clickbank and then the time it takes them to send a check, the forum has a link to a list of affiliate programs that pay your commission instantly.
